Folks,
I've owned my 1991 MR2 N/A for 2.5 years and I have done 19 HPDE/lapping days and spent about $1000 on brake consumables (pads, fluid, rotors) in that time. I have some stats on the brake pad life which I think others may find helpful.
My current setup is Ferodo DS2500 front pads with Carbotech AX6 rear pads. I also have DIY brake ducts for the front to keep temperatures in check. This is a great setup for the OEM N/A brakes.
I use no-name rotors from NAPA which seem to last about twice as long as the pads - i.e. I can use two sets of pads to one set of rotors. The rotors do eventually develop small stress fissures towards the end of thier life, so that is when I know they are done. Always keep a spare set of front rotors hanging around.
Brake fluid is bled before each track day and flushed with each pad change.
Hope this helps.
